Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Marketing (SMM) are two different but related digital marketing strategies that are used to increase the visibility and engagement of a website or business on the internet.

SEO is the process of optimizing a website or web page to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) for specific keywords or phrases. This is done by making changes to the website’s design, content, and coding to make it more attractive to search engines, and by building backlinks to the website from other sites. The goal of SEO is to increase the quantity and quality of organic traffic to a website.

SMM, on the other hand, is the process of promoting a website or business on social media platforms. This includes creating and sharing content, engaging with followers and customers, and running social media ads. The goal of SMM is to increase brand awareness, drive traffic to a website, and engage with customers.

SEO and SMM are not mutually exclusive and can complement each other. By optimizing your website for search engines and promoting it on social media, you can increase visibility for your brand, attract more website visitors and ultimately increase conversions and sales.
